Ms. Deloris Langley Howard

Ms. Delores Howard was born October 21,1943 in Columbia, SC. She’s the first born to James David and Estelle Virginia Langley. She graduated from C. A. Johnson High School in 1961 and attended Bennett College majoring in biology. Delores met the orchid of her life at NC A&T, Clarence Howard, who proceeded her in death. They moved to NY in 1967. Delores worked as a lab technician for the NYS Department of Health for many years before returning to NYU to obtain her Master’s in Education. She taught in New York City, Roosevelt and Uniondale, NY before retiring in 2007. In her free time, Delores was a lifetime learner, Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, Delteen Coordinator and tutored many children. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Red Hatter. She enjoyed traveling, visiting museums, was an avid book reader, camper, yogi, and epicurean. Delores was most happy spending time with her children, Winona Howard, Candace Howard, Nicole Hollingsworth (Randy), David Langley III (Courtney) her grandchildren, Marcel Allen, Brandon Hollingsworth, Elijah Hollingsworth, Myles Hollingsworth, Amhari Vassell, Delaney Hollingsworth, Emmett Hollingsworth and James David Langley IV. Her memory lives on with her only brother James D. Langley Jr, her niece April Langley, a host of cousins, friends, and colleagues.
