My dear friend, Evelyn, fondly known to the USDA, Veterinary Services family, as “Willis”. The catch phrase from the popular TV sitcom “Different Strokes” “wootcha talkin bout Willis” was a statement Evelyn would say when she questioned a statement one would make and most of the times, just for the hell of it! In the mid 80s Evelyn and I were coworkers at the Clemson Diagnostic Lab. She was my best friend and i always looked forward to the weekend ending so that we could work together, have fun with our job and enjoy our lunch outings. We were infamously known as “chocolate & vanilla” by our USDA family. We shared many times together at parties and cookouts. I left the Agency in 1991, but we continued our friendship each Christmas with a card. I would include photos which she always looked forward to. Heaven gained an angel. I love you my sweet Willis. Prayer and condolences to the James and Scott families.
