  1. Prayers for your family. I remember Deacon and Deaconess Edmunds from my early childhood years serving as ushers and with other church ministries. I loved hearing them sing at the Usher’s Unions.

Sister Edmonds and Deacon Edmonds where faithful servants of God.I will always remember how each day when my mother was in Baptist Hospital they would sit with me and my 2 sisters daily and their being there encouraged us.
I will always love and respect their memory.
    Saints of God, well done.

  4. Deaconess Gloria and Deacon Timothy Goodwin and Family, my continued Prayers for you all and the entire Edmond Family. She will definitely be missed by me, as she was a Jewel of Lady that was firm in her beliefs and gentle as a Lamb. She and the late Deacon Edmonds were very inpersonable in my life. I know that he is waiting patiently for his beautiful Bride inside and outside. Be encouraged in knowing that you all did a great Job in caring for Mrs. Edmonds to the end. I will certainly miss my friend, but recognizing that she has gone to a better place. May she rest in Peace in the Arms of the Lord and her Husband Benjamin. Much Love to all of you. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

  27. To Deaconess Gloria E. Goodwin & husband and Reggie of the home::

Sharing special thoughts and memories with you of a gentle and very dear lady, of whom I’ve known (along with Dea.Edmonds)
for the entire time of my membership at First Nazareth BC.

Needless to say, they were a dynamic duo who were inseperable in their daily service to the church and mankind. There were so many days that I would see that navy Chevrolet ( the blue goose) either arriving or departing the church as their daily routine had FNBC on their radar daily, among other visits across this city.

Mrs Edmonds was a committed & dutiful help mate to her husband without fail, as he moved in & out & around the consecrated walls of First Nazareth, at N. Millwood & Gervais Streets.

As a nember of the Senior Ushers, rarely was she absent from her duty station, which was a feat in itself if you knew her challenge, which never kept her from being in the number, anytime the church doors swung on welcome hinges.

My admiration for Mrs. Lucille Edmonds only heightened over the years, particularly after the departure of Dea. Edmonds as she never “slowed her roll”.

She, could have easily taken a break, as her help mate was gone & she had an excuse, but thanks be to her God & Gloria, her devoted daughter, who made sure she was present & in the number continuously without fail.
I for one, admired her tenacity & intestinal fortitude, each & everyday that she labored in the vineyard right up to the end.

I was among the well-wishers at her 91st year of celebration and was eagerly awaiting the 92nd in May of 2023!

She has now received her “miracle of healing” & is resting comfortably beside her husband, Dea. Benjamin Edmonds, both in the arms of Jesus and together as it is ordained. They are now in the “sweet by and by” on that beautiful shore.
    What a life worth celebrating!
    To God be the Glory!

Lovingly submitted, lifelong friend, Trustee M. L. Kohn

  28. My heart is saddened by the loss of Ms. Edmonds. She was small in statue but a giant of a woman. I know Deacon Lay your hands on me Jesus Edmonds was waiting for her at the gate. She will be missed from the First Nazerath Family. To the Family she’s alright now. Have comfort in knowing God don’t make mistakes and he will see you through . Rest on Ms. Lucille take your rest we will see you in the morning.
