  5. Dear Family:

    How beautifully fitting
& appropriate our Pastor, Rev. Scott eulogized our dear member and friend today at noon at First Nazareth BC.
His chosen title, “How To Make It Count” was supported by scripture from Proverbs 31:30.

As he suggested that when you have favor, from the Lord, you
have to handle it right…not arrogant, or snooty, but down to earth as you “fear the Lord”.

Margie Hammond’s bubbling personality attracted those in her presence to her , whether at work, church, with family or elsewhere.
She was likeable & loving in every way as you got to know her , even if you just met her. She exuded joy & a pleasant disposition all the time.
Who wouldn’t want to be in her presence for “she knew who gave her what she had ” as Rev. Scott extolled.

She realized & recognized that her labor would not be in vain in the Lord. She was ready to be offered up on her day!
She was a beautiful lady and “He made it count, because she made it count” T o God be the Glory!

  15. Since the day I met Margie, many years ago, when I became an employee of USC, I’ve known her to be a pleasant, kind and cheerful person. I’m sure each of her family members feels like there’s a hole in each of their hearts upon the loss of their dear, sweet Margie.
My wish, my hope, is that they, and each of us who knew and love Margie, will be comforted and strengthened by the memories of the happy tines we shared with her.

My heart-felt sympathies to Margiie’s family.

  17. Gone from our touch but never our hearts. Margie was an amazing example for so many young professionals at the University of South Carolina. She showed kindness, joy, faith, and pride through all that she did. “Margie Marg” as I often called her was such a wonderful and grounded co-worker that those of all ages just wanted to be around her and wear a suit as good as her. Working alongside Margie you could never truly have a bad day. She had a contagious laugh, smile, and potato chip habit. I learned so much from her over the years and I am Blessed to have worked alongside her until she retired. I am praying for your strength through this difficult time, because she loved her family.

  31. This was not the outcome I expected. I am thankful for the many years of collaboration and camaraderie. From past women’s day steering committees, the greeter’s ministry, Human Resources committee and trustee ministry we have faithfully served together. Over the years we have enjoyed many meals with our fellow Dinner D.I.V.A.S. I especially appreciated the laughter and voice of reason.

May those who loved Margie find peace and strength recalling precious memories. May I fulfill the future plans we discussed.Rest well my friend, until we meet again.

Unaware of the passing of my friend Margie, a friend from another time and place sent me the following note today: “When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.” Margie Hammonds leaves a tremendous amount of love to envelop her family and friends as we cope with our loss and Heaven’s gain.
