Ms. Mary Louise Lewis Hart

Mrs. Mary Louise Lewis Hart was born on January 26, 1942, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the sixth of ten children born to Connie Lewis, Sr. and Alberta Carter Lewis. She departed this life on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Mary was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina, and attended C.A. Johnson High School. She retired from Midlands Center (SCDMH) after many dedicated years of working for the State of South Carolina. Mrs. Hart was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend J.M. Odom. She loved her children, grandchildren, spending time with family, going out to eat, and shopping for antiques. She always kept her house beyond immaculate. She was preceded in death by: her late husband, Eugene Hart; her parents, Connie Lewis, Sr. and Alberta Carter Lewis; brothers, Connie Lewis, Jr., Daniel Lewis, and David Lewis; and sisters, Edith Jones, Annette Lewis, Vivian Lewis, Mildred Jamison, Willene Harrison, and Marjorie Lewis. Mrs. Mary Louise Lewis Hart leaves to mourn her passing: a daughter, Tonya Hart (Arthur) Austin, of Moncks Corner, SC; a son, Cedric (Maria) Hart, of Columbia, SC; three grands, Jennifer Ervin, of Summerville, SC, Cedric J. Hart and Jada Hart, both of Columbia, SC; two great-grandchildren, Serenity Burton and Shemere Sanders, both of Columbia, SC; her loving caregivers, Diane Smith and Sherry McFadden; and a host of other loving relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her daily.
