I remember Susan from many years ago. Her mom was my nurse during childhood! I always respected her dad as he was a dominant force in the juris doctorate arena. She served her church well as an active member of Union Baptist Church.
To Susan’s much loved family, she is at peace. We will meet her again at Jesus’ feet! Oh what a time it will be!!!

  3. I was truly shocked to hear of Susan’s passing. Growing up in Union Baptist together, we as young people participated in every youth ministry there was. We were lead by some wonderful women and always supported each other. Susan’s passing will leave a void in our chain, but awesome memories in our hearts. Much love, prayers and condolences to the Jenkins family

  5. Ms. Susan had a contagious smile that could light up the room. I, too, am in total disbelief & shock of her passing. She will be missed by many at The Home Depot, where she touched so many lives on a day to day basis. I used to love going up to SCO on my way out in the afternoons just to chat with her or give her a hard time, just to make her laugh. She’d say, “Oh, look at you, Coco, you stop it, now! See you done got me coughing!” She’d shew me towards the door, saying, “Go on home, I love you girl and you behave yourself!”. She was such a mess and a beautiful person inside & out! Go rest at the feet of Jesus, my friend, until we meet again! 🕊️🫶

  31. Growing up in Union Baptist Church on Germany Street, I remember Susan use to get on me and Pete in church, but also making us laugh and smile too.

I also remembered her strong Alto voice in church and her singing to the Lord. Mrs. Coefield and Mrs. Green didn’t play not games. Susan was like our big sister cousin who understood the youth in the church.

Thank you sis for impacting our lives. You will always be remembered.

  34. Ms Susan you will be truly missed and I enjoyed working with you. You have made me laugh and smile when I wasn’t feeling up to it. I would miss joking around with you and how you used to come in to work and make sure that it was clean enough for you to start your task for the night. Susan would be like “what’s y’all did today”, cause it shouldn’t be looking like this when I come in. I’m gonna miss you, Ms Lady. May you rest and sleep in peace ❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾

  43. With warmest regards,
to the honorable Lincoln C., (Betty), Sharon and (Jack), and Jenkins family:

It is often said, that when the Holy Spirit places someone on your heart, “lift that person in prayer.” Susan ( Blue) was on my mind last week, and I prayed.

Growing together at Union Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of her grandfather. From the Sunshine choir, Sunday school, VBS, countless fellowships aod other faith firmation idenities.

However, down through the years, whenever our paths crossed, it was always, hey Lynne, hey Susan. We always greeted each other with a hug and smile.

I will always remember Susan’s determination, and her gracious hospitality.

Susan had a strong robust voice. Our greatest time together was on the YPC.

Our chour directress Mrs. Cofield, taught us this song, with Susan singing the lead, “Only God Can Give You Peace”🙏

Susan, you have that eternal peace now. ❤
