Mrs. Yolanda Brown Green was born on February 26, 1965, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the second youngest of six children born to Earlie Mae Walker Brown and George E. Brown. She departed her life at Providence Hospital on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the tender age of 56 years old.
Yolanda attended the public schools of Richland County. She was a member of the Class of 1983, at Columbia High School. In 1983, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry A. Green.
Besides raising her children and grandchildren, Yolanda was a great mentor. She loved her family and never met a stranger. She had a contagious smile that made every one feel welcomed. She enjoyed traveling, enjoying life, and teaching all her children.
After retiring from the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, Yolanda became a stay at home grandparent helping to raise three of her grandchildren. She attended Kingston Road Church with her husband.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Jerry A. Green; and parents, Early Mae Walker and George E. Brown.
Mrs. Yolanda Brown Green leaves to Β mourn her passing: her beloved daughters, Tiffany Brown and Shambrelle Brown; grandchildren, Ortisha, Zanye, and Emirrorous; siblings, Melinda Walker, Janice Brown, Tonia (George) Rose, George (Karen) Brown, Jr., Calvin (Tavia) Priester, Rosland Bovain, Jermaine Bovian, Dino Brown,Β and Yarmyla (Anthony) James; Β along with a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom will missΒ her dearly.
Tiffany and shambria I love you both you guys and your family are in my prayers I pray that God gives you guys strength through this hard time just know weeping me and do it for a night but joy will come in the morning and to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord and I know that your mom and dad are in heaven now rejoicing and having themselves a good time because they were too happy people that love to have a good time love you guys!!!

We’ve gotten into trouble together …played together…..cried together β€ hell we learned how to smoke together….we got our azz beat together π. Even thou we was miles apart when we came together there was nothing missing or left out. Sorry to hear of a childhood friend passing. Lana and her sisters and brother we all grew up together as a family 5 doors down from each other. We played together,went to school together,slept together,ate together. When my mother died her mother became our mother. Family is what we are. Haven’t seen her in a long time but a piece of my heart went with her. My prayers goes out to her daughter’s and sister. My you find piece knowing that she is with the Lord.
I know their’s know words that can ease your pain at this time, but I’m praying for the both of you, and know that God will help steer you off this bumpy road to a much smoother one.
