  16. To the Family of MSG (Ret)
    Paul Wade:

I’m remembering a “Man’s man”, a “Pillar of the Community”, A Community Activist”, A teacher of woodwork” at the Historic Booker T. Washington & later W.J. Keenan High School, a Deacon at 2nd Calvary Baptist Church, (during the tenure of the late Rev. James Hinton to the present) and certainly a devoted “Family man” to all of his charges.

As a student at BTW, Mr. Wade would allow me to use scrap wood for my projects & that was so helpful to me.
    Later, as an adult,
Mr. Wade & I worked on several committees as members of the Columbia Branch NAACP, under the late Adele T. Adams & Dr. Lonnie Randolph, Jr.

He was committed, devoted & serious as he worked day in & out to effectuate change for citizens in Richland County.
Mr. Wade took on any task required of him to move the branch forward & I was usually in tandem working along with he & the late Levander Kearse, making it happen.

But aside, from his family, nothing meant more to him than his beloved Jackson State “Tigers, of Jackson, Mississippi, because when Paul Wade was “with” you, everything was possible!

Finally, George Washington Carver, the eminent scientist, said, “No individual has any right to come into the world, & go out of it without leaving behind him, distinct & legitimate reasons for having passed through it”

He was a dear friend, along
with Cynthia. who I admired & visited regularly.

MSgt, Paul Wade will be remembered for his long life of service to his family, his students & mankind!

May He Rest From His Labor In Power! – lovingly submitted, MLK

  17. Sincere condolences are extended to the family of Mr. Wade. I have fond memories of him that goes back to Booker T Washington High School. He was not one of my teachers, but was my employer . As a BTW student, I worked with him at the consession stand at W A Perry (now Bolden Stadium) during football season. He was a kind, caring gentleman. One of BTW finest.
