  3. To the family of CSM Dunlap (poppa D), he was my leader in uniform and as a contractor. I will miss his pacing when he was thinking. He was a good leader; a knowledgeable teacher, you just had to get used to his way. May God bless you in your time of loss. I pray for your comfort.

  7. First and foremost, my wife Carrie (or, as he liked to call her, Wonder Woman) and I would like to offer our prayers and condolences to the Dunlap family. I’ve had the pleasure of calling CSM(R) Dunlap a mentor and friend. Leroy and I roomed together during our tenure at Fort Stewart while he ran his operation out the Soldiers Center and I was the Chief, DES Security Division. Until we meet again, Rest Easy my friend in that place not made with human hands.

  9. Mr. Dunlap was my favorite boss ever. Strict but always fair…and gentle when he needed to be. “STICK AND MOVE” will forever be part of my mindset when life gets hectic. He was my light in the dark when my life was being especially cruel. Always a trusted confidant and trusted leader. The world is a better place because he was in it. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!!

  10. My deepest condolences to the family and other loved ones of Leroy R. Dunlap. I worked for you in and out of uniform and one thing for sure…it was never a dull moment. I recall how you laughed so when I informed you that many that grew up under your authority referred to it as the “Dunlap Regime.” 🫶🏽 First came the laughter, then pride as I named off names that reached equal or higher levels of command. R.I.P. Mr. Dunlap, your watch is now over.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Mr. Dunlap, Richard always spoke so highly of his dad, which speaks volumes about the man he was.
