  3. To the McClinton -Washington Family:

As I sat in the eulogistic worship of the personality of Rev. Dr. Sandra L. McClinton-Washington, I was reminded of the fact that she was one of the historic Booker T. Washington High School’s stellar graduates in the class of 1966.

Rev. Washington served mankind in the many ways in which she toiled on this earthly journey-educationally,spiritually, and as a comforter to many in her role as a “prayer warrior.”

She has now entered into eternal rest after more than seven decades of working in the vineyard of life. Therefore, on Nov. 19, 2022, she just “moved out, to move in.”.

To her five “boys”, she was a towering figure to be reckoned with as she nurtured them through adulthood. As the oldest, in the home at Edisto Court, she was “large and in charge” oftentimes and became the matriarchal figure to her 9 siblings after the departure of Ms.Sarah & Mr. Ike, their parents.

Later, she became a strong, “Mother figure” to her five “boys”, who have shown themselves as good and productive men.

It is worth noting that as a scholar athlete at BTW, where she ran track, she had her little brother (Rev. Fleming McClinton} to proudly hang her track shoes around his neck and follow her around as he catered to his big sister in life. And as an act of finality and love, he delivered her eulogy entitled “It Is Well With My Soul” as an epitaph to her life on these mundane shores.

As Paul charged Timothy in chapter 2:4-6 as he said, “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord , the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:…”

Rev. Dr. Sandra Lorraine McClinton Washington has now secured her Crown of Righteousness.
    To God be the Glory!
Lovingly submitted, M. L. Kohn, family

Although we mourn and grieve in the transition of our beloved Sister, we also rejoice knowing that to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord.
Take comfort in knowing that blessed are those that die in Christ.
May God encompass you with strength, compassion, understanding and guidance is my prayer for you.
I Love you and there’s nothing you can do about it.

  43. Sandra it’s hard to believe that u are gone. I will always remember tag-teaming when we had preaching engagements. You would preach & I would sing. When I preached u would pray. I don’t know of any other woman that could preach & expound on the Word of God like u did. Thank you my forever friend for the many years of friendship & the countless hours discussing the Word of God.
