  3. I met Anthony when I was four years old. He was on medical

    leave following another surgery related to wounds suffered in

    Vietnam–he was a soldier. Anthony did not have to return to

    Vietnam but he remained in the service assigned to a post in

    Germany. Growing up I saw him infrequently on visits home but

    knew wherever he was he was always a soldier.
