You have our deepest sympathy as we pray for peace and comfort as we remember our beloved Barry. God bless you! Much love cousins!
Sending my deepest condolences to you, Kim, and the Mitchell family. I got to know Barry at New Hope and we became friends. He was a mans mans and had a since of humor that kept us laughing. When our crew left New Hope we all continued to meet for lunch, once a month and I miss those days. I talked with Barry after his illness and all he talked about was how good God has been to him. So I know he is resting in heaven. He is missed. I pray for strength in the Lord during this time for you and your family. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Your beautiful memories of this wonderful man will ease the pain. God be with you and the family🌷🙏🌷
Wow, a fighter Mitchell definitely was. At the old R&E he was a welcome team member when it came to keeping the youth in line. Kim I pray God’s strength towards, in and through you 🙏
My condolences to his family and friends. My reconciliation of Lt. Mitchell at R&E Center was of a supervisor that care about his staff on every staff not just the staff he worked! Great supervisor and he will be missed by people that knew him….
My sincere condolences to the Mitchell family.
Condolences with Love, Hugs, and Prayers.May God Bless and Sustain the Family with HIS Grace and Mercy.
My deepest condolences to Kim and the Mitchell family. As an employee at DJJ, my paths crossed with both Kim and Barry. He was a hard working man and was always about his business. Kim, may God help you to find peace and comfort at this time.
Sending the most sincere and heartfelt prayers to Kim and the Mitchell family on the passing of Barry. May you be comforted in knowing how well loved Barry was. May GOD continue to surround you with his love to protect and comfort you all during your time of sorrow.
My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Barry Mitchell. I worked with Mr. Mitchell at the Juvenile Detention Center for a number of years. He was very devoted to his family and was hard working. Death of a love one is always difficult, may the family gain strength from God. Praying that God will comfort your broken hearts and provide healing with each passing day!
You have my deepest condolences we worked together. At the Detention Center.
My heart is heavy at the loss of Barry. He was a fighter. I remember him calling me when my son passed away. He gave me such words of encouragement he will surely be missed. Kim it was an honor to be his friend.
My condolences to Kim and the family. I worked with Barry at the Detention Center for many years.
You will truly be in my prayers.
To Kim & the Mitchell Family, thoughts and prayers to you. Both Kim, Barry and I were co- workers from DJJ & New Hope Midlands… how the time has gone by. Good memories..Rest in Peace Barry
My condolences to Barry’s wife, family and friends. I too worked with Mitchell, as we called him, at the Detention Center. I learned a lot from him. He is part of the reason I made it as far as I did in my career. He was always straight forward, professional and funny. I will always remember him as the man that climbed the fence with me to keep a kid from escaping and how he could sleep standing up. 😂 and not miss a beat. Barry Mitchell, there will not be another like you.
Sleep in peace.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family. For our brother Barry has now entered the full atonement of healing.
My condolences to kim and the entire Mitchell family .
Barry was a friend and a brother working together in two settings both New Hope Midlands and Djj ..
Barry will be sorely missed ! his laughter , his advice and his desire to care for those he loved (kim, family and friends ).. I will miss you my friend
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord🙏🏾
My Condolences to the Mitchell family. I had the unique pleasure of working with Mr. Mitchell at DJJ. Truly, he was one of a kind! But he was my friend. To know him was to love him or not. Love him or hate him, Barry was still going to be Barry. He was a dedicated professional and worked wholeheartedly with some difficult young adults. I couldn’t wait to get to work daily because I knew that he would be there and opinionated he was. Point and counterpoint would continue throughout the entire day because neither of us wanted to concede the debate. Barry and I had a special bond and a wonderful friendship built upon respect for one another. I have missed our serious conversations since I have retired. God has decided that it’s time for you to come home to Him my friend. Rest in peace my brother! Know that I love you my friend but God loves you so much more.
To Know Barry . You Couldn’t But Love 💜 Him Or Not Like Him. He Was A Straight Forward Guy. He Tell You The Truth And If You Couldn’t Handle It Oh Well . You Just Have To Get Over It And Move On. He Will Be Truly Missed. I Last Talk With Him On The Phone 📞 On July 12, 2022. And He Was In Good Spirit. My Prayers To His Wife Kim. And All Connected To Him. May God’s Peace Be With Y’all.
Working with Barry at DJJ is an experience that has stayed in my mind all these years. He was one of the top! He was faithful, dependable, and you knew all was well when he was on duty. He was guaranteed to bring laughter when in his presence. Condolences to his wife, family, and friends. To know Barry is no longer with us brings me great sadness, but the memories shall live on forever. Sleep well my friend.
Mr. Mitchell was a dedicated supervisor at the former Reception & Evaluation Center of The SC Department. I was not aware of his illnes, but I want I want Mrs. Mitchell and his family to know that my thoughts are with them during this time of loss. I am hospitalized myself presently and will not be able to attend his service. However, my prayers will be with you.
Heartfelt sympathy to Kim and the Mitchell family during this difficult time. To know Barry was to love his kindred spirit! He was a true friend indeed! He was a very resourceful person , always willing to lend a helping hand when he could ! He will truly be missed ! You are in my prayers ❤️🙏🏾🌹

Kim, Barry loved you with all his heart and he was grateful for you.
