Mr. Charles Edward Smith was born on February 27, 1953, in Eastover, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Grady and Lucinda Smith.  He departed this life on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

 

Charles was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina, and graduated from Lower Richland High School.  He served in the United States Army for four years.  After his tour of duty, he was employed at the Coca Cola Company in Columbus, Ohio, as a machine operator for five years.  Charles returned to South Carolina, and continued to work as a laborer at Patterson Masonry Company.

 

Mr. Smith was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church, at a young age, in Eastover, South Carolina.  He was also a very friendly person to everyone he met.

 

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by: his parents, Grady and Lucinda Smith; brothers, Blake and Robert Lee Smith; and sisters, Willi Anne Fisher and Ernestine Smith.

 

Mr. Charles Edward Smith leaves to cherish his precious memory: his two sisters, Martha Sumpter, of Columbia, SC and Elizabeth Hinton, of Hopkins, SC; two brothers, Henry Smith of Eastover, SC and Franklin Smith, of Gadsden, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives, and caring friends,  all of whom will miss him dearly
