  3. Craig was a mench! He was such a nice and sweet man. We worked together for 20 years and he never had a sour day. I remember when his wife died so young, but he reared fine children and always had a positive outlook. He will be missed.

  4. I was blessed to receive a call from Craig about 2 months ago. He was always so kind, the same person I knew during the years we worked together. I remember attending the funeral of his wife, who passed away so young. Craig raised his children and managed without complaining. I listened to Dr. Dasilva’s eulogy, and he captured the beautiful essence of Craig’s life and character, someone who truly will be missed.

  5. To the family of Craig Steedley,

My heart is heavy with you because Craig was the sort of man that held friendships as he did family like precious jewelry that when you pick it up you did not want to put it down.

I pray that you hold each memory and each moment that God allowed us to know such a man, he gave to other more then he kept for himself.

May we all hold onto the Lord for our strength and healing because when we suffer a loss it does hurt. Even though we all morn diffidently, we can be assured that our memories will bring joy of our relationship with our “Laughing Big Teddy Bear”

Psalm 30:5,b says: “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”

  7. To the Family of Craig Steedley:

Dear family, as the “Celebration of Life” will take place today for your loved one. on this cold Februaty day at noon, many will be in attendance for this “gentle giant of a man” that I remember as the younger brother of my classmate, Clarita., BTW class of ’68.

It is providential and appropriate as my thoughts of Craig is remembered as he lived his life in the admonition of the God he served.
Craig loved life and extended love and kindness to his fellow man, on his journey of life. that ended too soon as we say.

Job14:5 says a man’s days are numbered. as he cannot live longer than the time set for him.

Craig’s life was a blessing to all who knew and loved him as he journeyed through this life as evidenced by the many expressions shared by neighbors. classmates. co-workers and friends of the Valley Park community. in particular.

We will miss him from our midst. but always remember him and his good deeds as he traveled this journey for 65 years.

To God Be the Glory for the Things He Has Done.

  21. A voice of velvet, smooth and deep,
Now lulls the angels into sleep.
With that Temptations soul and 70s swing,
He’s joined the choir where the heavens sing.
He lived his life in service and care,
A healing touch that was always there.
From the doctors halls to the Sunday pew,
He gave the kind of love that pulled us through.
Two daughters he cherished, a son he held dear,
His grandchildren’s laughter was all he’d need hear.
And oh, how the yard would fill with the scent,
Of ribs on the grill and a day well spent.
With a bowl of collards and family near,
His heart was full, his purpose was clear.
But the smoke has risen, the song’s reached its end,
He’s gone to the Father, our father and friend.
He’s reunited now where the joy never stops,
Grilling for kin while the heavenly beat drops.
No more pain in the body, just peace in the soul,
Our favorite singer is finally whole.

My Brother You will be FOREVER in Our Hearts!

  25. Craig had such an infectious laugh and love for all he knew. He was always in high demand when the doctors’ needed a cast, brace or just a smile for a scared child or adult. Loved his laugh and especially when he was copying Dr. Robert (Big Daddy) Peele’s laugh. You are missed and condolences to all of the Steedley family.

  56. Just found out today that you gained your wings. God makes no mistakes and needed you with him. It was an honor to have met you even though it wasn’t on the best of terms but it was an honor. Transporting you to your appointments in the hospital and making sure you were good it was an honor, even the little conversations about life to and from your appointments, it was an honor. Sleep well Sir.
