  10. My deepest condolences to the Hart family. Cyrus and I served together in the SC Air National Guard. We were both nurses in the 169th Clinic. He was my drill brother. From my first day of drill, it was like we knew each other for years. Cyrus never met a stranger, he talked to everyone as if he knew them previously. I will miss you my friend and all who knew you will miss you. You are now with our Lord Jesus Christ in that place He promised us (John 14). Rest in peace my friend.

  18. It was a pleasure and joy to know and work with Cyrus in Nursing Education at the VA. I think he had more patience than anyone else I’ve ever known! All the nursing students who did rotations on his unit would always report in their evaluations how kind and helpful he was, along with his willingness to share his knowledge with them! He will be sorely missed by many and may he rest easy! May God’s grace and peace be with his family.

I know a lot of the people in the VA because Cyrus would introduce me to everyone as we walked the halls together. He told me to always take the time to speak to the people you work with, and talk a bit. A true, kin, and gentle soul; a great example of a gentleman. Rest easy Cyrus

  44. Cyrus… you trained a lot of social workers over the years, myself included, and you will be missed. I’ll never forget your breaking me of one bad habit… i’d blurt out some stupid question, and you’d refuse to engage until i said ‘good morning… how are you’ versus bulldozing into a conversation. Makes me laugh as i remember HOW MANY times you had to do this with me. You’ve earned your wings, and i hope that your family also lifts up the wonderful memories of your time on earth. RIP.
