  1. To the Early Family, please accept our sincerest condolences. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Mr. Early was such a dedicated son and caregiver to his late mother who was our United Order of Tents sister which is how we came to know him. May God bless and strengthen you at this time.

  2. I regret so much that I cannot be with you today.
Darryl was a friend and colleague for many years at ETV. I have always enjoyed his thoughtful contributions to Fb on such a regular basis, always so well-informed, and with such a great conscience about all things, all people, and the world around us! He is too soon gone, but I am happy that he can now be at peace.
Darryl, you will always be missed, but what a tremendous legacy you leave behind!
To the family, I am keeping you in prayer for God’s comfort and peace.

  3. My thoughts and prayers to members of the Earley family upon hearing of Darryl’s passing. Darryl was a colleague and friend of mine during his tenure as a Director at South Carolina ETV. Darryl was a talented musician. I will always fondly remember Darryl for recognizing my talent as a News Reporter at WIS-TV, and major markets. Musically Darryl inspired me to sing jazz music with Big Band orchestras, and play the organ and piano, at various churches throughout Columbia and surrounding areas. Darryl, rest in peace my friend. We will see each other again, as we play and sing music with the angels. You will truly be missed and always remembered. May our Lord and Saviour be with you. Prayerfully, Jackie Johnson.

  16. On behalf of the Casey family I want to express our condolences and prayers for the Early family. Darryl and I shared a lot of fond memories. It amazed us both that we played in a band together for years before we found out that we were cousins by way of his mother’s side and my father’s side of the family (Able/Williams/Weeks/Bluford). We continued to collaborate in music ventures through the years. RIP cousin Darryl.

  18. Lewis and I are heartbroken by the news of Darryl’s passing and send our condolences to the Earley family. My family and the Earleys are related by marriage. Darryl and I were also close friends and colleagues for decades at ETV. He was thoughtful, soft spoken, intelligent, always one for a good laugh and so talented, both musically and creatively. A superb storyteller during his TV career.

Rest in power, DE. We will always love and remember you.

  22. Our paths crossed when we both worked in the TV business here in Columbia SC. Darryl worked at SC ETV, and I worked at both WLTX, and WIS. Darryl was a good friend and he played a major role in the success of the Jobman Caravan Show. He was gifted with producing thought provoking memorable stories about the struggles of Black South Carolinians. He was also a gifted musician who enjoyed sharing music. He will be missed but not forgotten. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
