Don was a true gem—an unforgettable soul whose kindness, charisma, and warmth touched everyone he met. He led with his heart in all things, never hesitating to lend a listening ear, a helping hand, or a well-timed joke to lift someone’s spirits.
Always quick with a smile and a clever quip, Don had a natural gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and appreciated. Whether you’d known him for years or just met, he had a way of making you feel like a lifelong friend. His insight and empathy could turn a bad day into a better one with just a few words.
To know Don was to know joy, sincerity, and generosity. He had that rare ability to brighten a room, ease tension, and bring people together. The loss of his presence leaves a deep ache, but the memories he leaves behind will forever bring warmth and comfort.
I will miss you, my friend.

Please accept my deepest sympathy because I am truly sadden by the passing of Don. Even though it was an extreme shock for me, we all know that God makes no mistakes. Don was such a wonderfully intellegent, pleasant, friendly yet calm person. He was very giving and was always willing to help anyone when the need arise. I looked forward to his fellowship at church and Benedict games. He was present at practically all football and basketball games tailgating and socializing with colleagues and friends. I also looked forward to seeing him walk into the church doors dressed impeccably well. I will miss that kind, calm and friendly appearance and voice. But I am celebrating his life because he has truly gained his wings! My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family during this most difficult time! Love and Blessings, Mary
To the Stanley family I extend my deepest sympathy! Don and I walked in the afternoon at Caughman Road Park. As we walk, we would discuss religion, politics, sports, and any relevant issue. Sometimes the discussion could be heated, but it never broke our friendship! Don was adamant concerning golfing! He tried to educate me on the history and the art of golfing! He even gave me a set of clubs and golfing accessories. He love to talk about Benedict football and basketball. Don was passionate, kind, intellectual, and one of the best friend that anyone could’ve had! My prayer is that one day in the future your joy will return. I can only imagine the pain that that you an enduring at this time! If there’s anything that I can do now or in the future, please do not hesitate to ask!
