The Richard E Stinson Family
I will always remember Mr. (Coach) Scott and the positive influence he had on my life as a student athlete at Columbus South High School over 50 years ago. I remember his pregame speeches were not only motivational but inspirational. Coach Scott has left a legacy that influenced more students then he could imagine. Rest in power Coach and in your words that I’ll always remember…YOU ARE AS GOOD AS YOU WANT TO BE!
I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the entire family during this difficult time. Mr. Scott had a way of spreading his wisdom without hesitation. He listened to you while encouraging you to be a better version of yourself. He was the coolest guy who always embraced everyone with positivity and grace. Mr. Scott will deeply be missed. I will continue to pray for my sista-friend Khalilah and the entire family.
Uncle Scotty, thank you for being such a great Uncle and role model as a man, father and husband. The times spent with you, Aunt Pat and Kali are some of the best memories that I have. I will never forget your kindness and wise words; you will be deeply missed. Shay and I will find great comfort in the loving memories that we have of you.
Auntie Pat, I’m very sorry about the passing onto glory of your beloved husband Uncle Henry. Both of you were such guardians and support for Shade’ and our children Nneka, Nkechi and Nonye, who effortlessly bonded with your daughter Khalilah as well. You also became Nonye’s Godparents and have done an excellent job at that.
Mr Scott was principled but kind and compassionate, as is also witnessed by the students, who passed through his Columbus East High.
He will be missed dearly by you, his immediate family and us his extended family and numerous friends.
I sincerely commiserate with you, Pat and Khalilah and thank God for the privilege of knowing Uncle Henry. I pray God remain with you this difficult time of your mourning.
May he receive the blessings of his last journey. . . Heaven.
Adieu Uncle Henry Scott

Uncle Scottie, You became my brother and uncle Scottie to my daughters the first day we met. I will always cherish all the holidays and celebrations we shared with you, auntie Pat and Kalilah. Your kindness, bear hugs and laughter will forever
remain in our hearts. I believe GOD welcome you by saying,
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Pat, Khalila, and the Scott/Toland Family–
We were shocked to hear of Cousin Henry’s untimely passing, and our hearts ache with yours. Know that your Ohio family is lifting you up in prayer for God’s strength, comfort, and peace during this challenging time.
As we remember Henry, we reflect on the life we shared as a family. He was never just a cousin, he was our “brother.” He and our deceased brother, June, shared a strong bond having been so close in age. Henry was a part of our lives from childhood through adulthood. Although he was an only child, he was grounded and kind. The years we shared and the memories we hold will always be remembered, deeply cherished, and embedded in our hearts.
Pat, we cannot speak about Henry’s life without speaking about you and Khalila. Both of you were his joy, his foundation, and his purpose. His love for you was steady, evident, and undeniable.
We remember how deeply Henry loved and respected our parents, Uncle Oscar, and Aunt Mary. Their influence shaped the closeness that we shared as family, and they loved him like their own. The deep sense of integrity that Henry lived by revealed the goodness within him, and it brings us comfort to know how much love they shared.
Henry possessed seriousness and a no-nonsense mindset when life presented itself. However, he could bring light to a room, as we fondly remember his joking, hearty laughter, his easy smile, and the gentle humor he shared so freely. His spirit was very much like his mother, Aunt Estelle, who was loving, fun-spirited, and full of life. Uncle Leonard, too, was loving, humorous, supportive, and maintained a steadfast presence.
Though our hearts are heavy from the pain of losing him, we hold on to the comfort that Henry is now at peace. We believe that he is reunited with his family and loved ones who went before him and is resting in the presence of the God he loved so deeply. As a family who loved him so much, we place him gently in God’s hands, trusting that the same God who guided his steps in this life, now welcomes him into eternal peace.
Henry’s love remains with us, and his legacy lives on in the many hearts he touched. Forever loved, never forgotten. — (Jenny, Cheryl & Isaiah, James & Marsha)
