As I told Ruby on Wed, I am saddened by James’ passing, but am also saddened by the many missed times, years, opportunities to connect. Be encouraged by believing that one day we’ll all be together and what a glorious day that will be!

  7. To Ruby and the entire Greene and Blackettie family: It was with great sadness to hear of the passing of our dear cousin. James has been such a thoughtful and caring person and he will truly be missed. James, we often called him Rabbit, was my mother, Juanita Hartley Bryson’s, first cousin. I will always remember how he would stop by and check on her to make sure she was ok. My late brother James Hartley also thought highly of Rabbit and enjoyed spending time with him. I don’t recall Rabbit saying much but I do remember his calm manner which was so very comforting. On Sundays, I remember walking into mom’s living room and he would be sitting there and sometimes neither of them were saying much. During those visits I would think how nice and refreshing it was to sit in silence and just “be present”… that was how I remember Rabbit. He has this special and unique gift to live in the moment! Thank God for allowing this caring soul to pass our way and to bring a ray of sunshine, peace, hope and stillness to others along the way. What a great testimony to demonstrate the love of Christ through the life he lived and not just the words he said. May the fond memories of James/Jimmy/Rabbit live on in
    our hearts and minds forever!
