My deepest condolences to each of you.
Mr. Bowers was a gentleman of the utmost integrity. I met him in the early ’70s when we were students at USC. Although I didn’t know him well, I knew him as the gospel DJ from WOIC Radio. He not only played some of the best gospel songs of that time, but he also ministered the love of Jesus through his commentaries and through his walk.
Little did I know then that, years later, our daughters would become friends. Through their friendship, I had the privilege of meeting his lovely wife, your mother, Antionette. She was a beautiful soul who always expressed joy and made everyone around her feel comfortable and welcomed. Being in her presence often brought laughter, but most importantly, she was a woman of love and faith.
May God keep each of you in His abundant love, especially during this difficult time. May He give you the comfort, strength, and peace that only He can provide, and may the beautiful memories of your parents continue to bring you comfort in the days ahead.
