Mr. John “Rudy” Adams

Mr. John Adams was born June 12, 1948. He was the sixth of ten children born to Robert and Rebecca Brown Adams. He departed his earthly life on Friday, May 28, 2021, after 72 years with us. John attended the Richland County Public Schools. He was very active in the community, where he made many friends. John, affectionately known as Rudy and John Quincy, was employed for over 20 years with Food Service Supplies. Rudy spent all his life in the Hopkins Community, where he was “A jack of all trades and became a master of many of them.” Rudy mentored and enjoyed spending countless hours with his nephews and extended family, whom he loved dearly. He especially loved cooking, fishing, and gardening. Rudy always kept a beautiful yard. He was a respected family man, hard worker, and an outdoorsman. Rudy was always full of fun and laughter, and the life of every party. Rudy fought a good fight and finished the race. Thanks be to God we all kept the faith with him! John was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Rebecca Brown Adams; and five siblings, Lucretia M. Adams, William Brown, Robert Adams, Jr., Melvin Adams, and Annie L. White. Mr. John Adams leaves to mourn his passing: his four sisters, Alberta (Henry) Weston, of Hopkins, SC, Patricia Gray, of Columbia, SC, Mary Davis, of Hopkins, SC, and Amie (Henry) Montgomery, of Hopkins, SC; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Adams and Lottie Adams; many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
