My sympathies, prayers, and love are with Johnny, Benita, and the amazing grands and great-grand. Mr. Thomas was one of the men who raised the bar for others. He honored God and served the church in many ways. He worked hard and provided a comfortable home for his family. He never stopped learning – he wasn’t intimidated by technology at all! He was so very proud of his children and grands, and his face would illuminate when I asked about them. The members of Mrs. Thomas’ choirs were extended family to him. He always welcomed us with open arms, and took lots of photos of us.
Truly, this outstanding Man of God will be missed on Earth, but I know he is with God and his beloved Mrs. Thomas.
May God comfort you, and may his memory be a blessing.
The Frierson family send prayers and love to the Thomas family.
Johnny Jr. and Benita, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Deacon Johnny Thomas was always a gentle, kind, loving man. He made himself my security guard and made sure I was safe in my car before leaving the parking lot of Northminster. He enjoyed sharing the gospel and loving memories of your mother, Mrs. Althea. I miss him, but I will cherish all the special memories he shared with me. My heartiest condolences to you in such a difficult time. May God usher you and your family with peace and comfort. May God receive your father in heaven.
To the Thomas family, Barbara and I would like to extend our sincere condolences to you and your family during your time of sorrows. In your time of sorrow, may God’s presence bring pea and comfort as He gives strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

Johnny Jr. and Benita, please accept our condolences at the passing of Brother Johnny. Your dad was a pillar of the church and a faithful servant leader who always showed up to serve God and the community. I am grateful for his loving heart, steady presence, quest to grow as a disciple. He, your mom, and Odie were also beloved by our independent children who would walk from the church to their house while your dad and I were on the phone. Once they were out of my sight and your dad said, “I see them” I knew they were safe and would be cared for. I am thankful for the comradery, the church and living room chats, and the always full bowl of candy. There are so many more happy memories and I am still carrying the last $2 bill that he sent for my birthday. Be comforted and may many happy memories fill your hearts with joy in the days to come. Love and blessings.
Edward & Lorraine Murray and family extend their sincerest condolences to the Thomas family. Johnny was a thoughtful person who always had a kind word and warm smile. Johnny was a dedicated member of our church family and we will miss him dearly.
Our sincere sympathy and condolences and prayers to the family and relatives and friends.
