My dear grandpa,
I am glad that you had a long and fulfilling life. It was inspiring to see that you took the opportunity and started a new adventure in the United States. I am happy that you could spend wonderful years there. I will always remember you as the great grandfather you have been to me. RIP

Wir werden Karl-Ludwig immer in liebevoller Erinnerung behalten. Er hat viele Spuren der Fürsorge hinterlassen und wir hatten eine schöne Zeit mit ihm. Es freut uns sehr, dass er seine letzten Jahre in seiner neuen Wahlheimat genießen konnte und er bis zum Schluss bestens versorgt und betreut wurde.
Lieber Karl-Ludwig, danke an die schöne Zeit, die wir gemeinsam hatten. Du warst immer da, wenn man Dich gebraucht hat. Auch Gisela hätte Dir die letzten Jahre in Amerika sehr gegönnt. Schön auch, dass Gerda und Lee Dich bei deinem letzten Abenteuer begleitet haben. Nach einem erfüllten Leben bist Du nun von uns gegangen. Ruhe in Frieden.

My dear Karl Ludwig I will truly miss our many conversation and laughers. I will miss how you would try to explain something to in German and me not fully understanding so you would say “nevermind” although we had a language barrier between each other we didn’t allow that to stop us from becoming really good friends that loved one another very much. RIP Karl LudWig Heaven has gain a special Angel.

I am honored to have gotten to know Karl Ludwig, if even for such a short time. Anne, you were a wonderful help to him, and provided joy with his 90th birthday party, and the trip to the mountains. Hold these memories close and may Our Lord hold you closer.
Nach einem erfüllten und langem Leben bist du heim gegangen. Ich denke gerne an die schöne Zeit in Deutschland und habe mich gefreut dass du noch ein paar schöne Jahre in Amerika bei deinem Schwager und Schwägerin erleben durftest.
