  1. Our prayers and condolences to the family of the late Deacon Kenneth Carmichael. We remember many fun days sitting on the porch with Sis. Deborah, talking about the bible and singing songs, while getting eaten up by mosquitoes! Kenny would pull up from work, always with a smile and a quiet “how’s every body doing?” It’s been years, but many beautiful memories. To learn the Father had called Kenny home touched each of us, especially thinking about Deborah and how much she loved herself some “Kenny!” Yes, we were on the porch talking and singing, but when Kenny came home, Deborah would always say “I’ll talk to yall later,” because she’s gotta go give Kenny his dinner! It was easy to see that they were made for each other, and their union was definitely ordained by God. So, we were not at all surprised by the beautiful homegoing celebration for Deacon Carmichael! I don’t think any of us had ever heard Kenny say an unkind word to anyone, let alone raise his voice. He had a very quiet spirit that obviously impacted many lives, judging by the packed Church! Amen! Deborah,
we wish you and the entire Carmichael family many continued blessings. We will keep you and family lifted up in prayer. God bless you all.

  3. In Loving Memory Of My Late Cousin Deacon Kenneth Carmichael 😇💔😭🕊🪽🌹
The Loss Of A Cousin 🕊😇🌹🪽💔😭 My eyes filled up with tears as I heard the news.
It never occurred to me how much I could lose.
I find myself wishing that it wasn’t real.
Every time I think about it, pain is all I can feel.
Tears fall from my eyes; I can barely see,
But my heart tells me that he’ll always be with me.
I’m glad he feels no pain now; he lives in a perfect land.
I can still feel the soft touch on my shoulder of his loving hand.
I lie in bed and cry at night,
And I don’t feel any better in the morning light.
I will love and miss him forever,
Until the day we are again together.
Together in that perfect place above,
Filled with caring, sharing, and love,
But until that day comes–I will wipe my tears away
And hope to see him again someday.

  36. My sincere condolences to Sister Debra Carmichael, the children and grandchildren and the entire Carmichael family members.

My heart was truly touched at the loss of our Beloved Brother Kenneth Carmichael, who along with Sister Carmichael, grew up in the Progressive Church of Hopkins for the past (40) years along with those of us from Dreher High School and the Eastway Park gang where we grew up. So, we all have been a part of the same Spiritual Family in Christ for a long, long time, and this was like losing a blood brother.

There are not many people in life that you meet that one can say that they have been the same from day one that you met them, but Brother Kenneth Carmichael was truly one of the few people that I have met in my lifetime that I can truly say that he was the same person from day one that I met him.

Brother Kenneth Carmichael was a humble, kind and Holy Brother who loved the Lord and took a stand for living Holy. I always loved hearing Brother Carmichael sing because he ALWAYS sung with conviction and the power of the Holy Ghost every time he sung a song.

My very last memory of Brother Kenneth Carmichael was when he led the last song on the last Brotherhood Program in Hopkins, and when the brothers marched to their seats, Brother Carmichael was coming behind them singing in the power of the Holy Ghost and shouting in the aisle giving God the praise! Glory Hallelujah!

Though our Dear Brother will be truly missed by us ALL, we can rejoice…because his battle has been fought and his victory has been won, and Brother Kenneth Carmichael can now say as the songwriter who wrote, “I Am Free, Praise The Lord I’m Free.” No Longer Bound. No More Chains Holding Me. My soul is RESTING. A’nit that a BLESSING…PRAISE THE LORD HALLELUJAH I’M FREE! Rest In Peace Brother Kenneth Carmichael. Your Sister In Christ, Sister Cynthia Watson
