  3. It is with a heavy heart that I learn of the passing of Larry Reid. With whom I have known most of his life.
I really find what kind of person Larry was when I started working for Albany Felt. He was man with a lot of integrity he respected me, I have respected him. He was a guy whom take life seriously. I pray for his family that they will remember his legacy and keep what he has to make life better for the youngsters that he had opportunities to mentor.

Marci and family- My Prayers and Condolences…

My Heart has ached since the announcement of your passing and I have struggled to frame words in your honor as if the bad dream would end. It hasn’t as you are no longer here in this physical realm.

Some people pass through life quietly.
    Larry wasn’t one of them.

He was a man’s man — strong, loyal, and fiercely protective of those he loved. An athlete with heart, a friend with fire, and a brother who never backed down from standing for what was right and an unselfish cheerleader if I can use the term. You counted my accomplishments as if they were yours and always had a positive word even when I knew everything wasn’t positive. You often you to say, Jesus was the only perfect man so just so the best you can and rest in Christ and his finished work.

We shared our time in the world, and somewhere in that journey, we also found faith together. Larry and Marci opened their home for Bible study — turning what was once just a living room into holy ground for young believers back In The day. He even hosted my wedding oyster roast since I couldn’t have a traditional bachelor party — that’s the kind of brother he was.

Life brought its ebbs and flows, but Larry never quit. Through it all, he remained full of loyalty, laughter, and that signature spark that could light up any room.

He had a memory like an elephant, and every conversation started with his famous words:
    “Man, you remember…”

And yes, brother — I do. The ride outs and the brother to brother talks.
    I remember it all.

    Rest in peace, Larry.
Your loyalty left a mark, your laughter lingers, and your legacy lives on in every life you touched

  24. Marci,

Loving thoughts are with you as you bid farewell to your husband. Jr. Deacon Larry Reid will be remembered as one of my family’s caring and dedicated parent. Our home was one that was shared with so many of Alice Temple/Refuge Temple children. Which caused us to have a special connection. Deacon Reid thanks for sharing your smile and laughter with us!

I know that hugs won’t ease your pain. Words can’t wipe away your tears. But, God can comfort you with everything you will need to go forward. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

Hold on to your memories. Love and Prayers!

Larry was like a brother to me. Every time we saw one another, we shared a good laugh. He never missed a chance to tease me about something I said years ago at the Omega Center. I’m truly going to miss him. May he rest in peace in the hands of the Lord.

    With sympathy,
    Rodney

  29. To family, my prayers are with you. I remember Larry at St Stephen Rec, the way he cared for those kids. Fed them, picked them up, took them home. A father figure to a lot of kids who needed that in their lives. He inspired many of them and they have grown up to be good men because of a mentor like Larry in their young lives. Also grateful for the many years we worked together at Albany. My heart hurts, i can’t imagine how yours must hurt, but I know we will see Big Reid again one day. Rest in Peace my friend
