To Ms. Kathy Fogle:
Your tribute to your Father was so endearing and special as you beautifully described every aspect of his life as you experienced it in the relationship with him as a “Man” and the privilege of being his daughter.
What a magnificent expression of your love, adoration and devotion to the man that was responsible for the woman you became and still are!
He was without a doubt, your true “role model” and a wonderful Father!
Your very special tribute made me reflect on my dearly departed Dad (2008) , who I so admired as much as you described about your Dad, Mr. Leroy Fogle, who I’m sure our paths must have crossed during his longevity of life.
My special condolences to the family as he rest in peace and power!
To God be the Glory!
A Tribute to My Father
Today, I write this not only as Leroy Fogle’s daughter, but as one of the greatest recipients of his love. It is difficult to put into words what my father meant to me because he was so much more than a parent. He was my teacher, my protector, my source of strength, and in his final years, it became one of the greatest honors of my life to care for the man who had once cared for me.
Daddy was a proud veteran who answered the call to serve his country with honor. The discipline, courage, and commitment that defined his military service were the very same qualities that shaped the way he lived his life. He believed in doing what was right, working hard, and loving his family.
Like every family, we experienced joys and challenges over the years. But through it all, one thing never changed—he was my father, and I loved him deeply. In his later years, our relationship became one of the greatest blessings I have ever known. Spending those years by his side taught me lessons that no book ever could. I learned patience, compassion, resilience, and the true meaning of unconditional love.
Caring for Daddy was never a burden—it was a privilege. Every doctor’s appointment, every dialysis treatment, every hospital stay, every prayer whispered beside his bed, and every quiet moment we shared became priceless memories that I will treasure forever. If I had to do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing. I would choose him every single time.
Although watching him decline was heartbreaking, I find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. His body grew weary, but his spirit is now free. I can only imagine the peace he now enjoys in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
Daddy, thank you for your sacrifices. Thank you for your wisdom. Thank you for every lesson you taught me—both through your words and through your life. Thank you for trusting me to walk beside you during your final journey. It was the greatest responsibility and the greatest blessing I have ever been given.
Your voice may be silent, but your love will continue to echo in my heart every day of my life. I will carry your memory with me in everything I do. I will honor your legacy by living with strength, integrity, compassion, and faith—the very qualities you demonstrated throughout your life.
Though our hearts are broken today, we rejoice in knowing that this is not goodbye forever. Because of God’s promise, we know we will meet again.
Until that beautiful day…
Rest peacefully, Daddy.
Your mission is complete.
Your watch has ended.
Thank you for your service, your love, and your life.
I love you always.
And I will miss you forever.
