Sharing with the Cook family as you prepare to celebrate the life of a good and God-fearing man who I encountered through our many BTW celebrations over the years.
He was in the decade of the fifties, 1958 actually, of which there were so many dedicated Washingtonians of this period
who reveared our alma mater.
I, for one, apprciated all that he was and certainly whose he was during this, his earthly sojourn & as he served his ccountry admirably as a “real man”, in the US Marine. Corp.
They don’t come any better than a Robert Ehrlish Cook, Jr.
He has now moved out, to move in, as he enjoys his well-deserved, eternal rest with his Heavenly Father.
May you family, take comfort in the many memories of a life well lived and know that your loved one is – alright now!
💜Heartfelt Memorial To The Beloved Family of My Best Friend Robert E. Cook. A thousand words could never describe how deeply saddened we were to be with each of you when we said goodbye to him on December 7, 2023 at MUSC Medical Center. Robert answered all of the calls for Jesus Christ during his declining health. Robert was Heaven’s Special Gift to me since we were students and football players at Booker T. Washington High School in the late 50’s.
Robert loved God, adored his family, neighbors, friends and colleagues with all of his heart. His courageous activism, strength, perseverance and devotion to God, as well as his prideful sterling career in The Marine Corps, were a treasured testament of the strength and bond of The Cook Family. All was a part of God’s design.
Robert has moved to Paradise where life’s burdens have ceased and he is surrounded by great joy, peace and God’s amazing grace and love. There is peace and calm in the 23rd Psalm. God Bless and comfort The Cook Family and many others as you preserve this Legacy of Love.
