  9. Dear Maxine and the entire family of Ronald Levester Sewell:

As I share my thoughts and memories of a good man, & your life partner, my first thoughts were of Ron as a doorkeeper in God”s house each Sunday.

However, as I reflect further, I remember Ron, in the mid sixties
as one among many students from CAJ HS, coming to Booker T. Washington HS to be introduced to one of about eight (8) Trade & Industrial courses that were offered to upper classmen at that time. Ron was probably the one I remember from the group from CAJ, because he was ” that kind of guy”, engaging and talkative during his movement through our halls to get to the area where trade courses were taught.

Beyond that period, our paths crossed again when Ron arrived at CAJ ( his alma mater) , to become a member of the Science department.

Ron was a welcome addition to our department and served as an excellent role model to his students, both males & females, as their teacher and a coach..

During my continued visits to First Calvary Baptist Church, (where my. sister & her husband attended), I was usually greeted each time, until recently, by my friend & colleague, Ron Sewell who received ” his wings of love”
    from a merciful Father.

We shall all miss Ron, who I knew to be a great guy & gentleman.

May the legacy of love and service to his family and fellow man serve as a beacon of inspiration to all who knew and loved him!

    To God be the glory!

  13. Maxine and family,

Reaching out to you all with heartfelt sympathy and to let you know that your lost is our lost. Your family has always been a part of my family. My first encounter with Ronald was in the 7th grade when I was in his science class. He had a sign posted that stated “Sometimes it is better to accept defeat than have cause to be ashamed of victory.” He explained to us that living by this quote can lead to a good life. To this day, I am still taking his advice.

May God continue to keep and bless you all.
