I am a firm believer that when we lose someone close to us, they continue to live on through us and give us strength. He will truly be missed. Al Lowery, CAJ/1969
Peabody and his Bride, Diane, were my classmates at CAJohnson High School c/o 1970. He was such a jovial person and such a joy to be around. Our Varsity Basketball Team Captain 🏀.
We reconnected on Facebook some years ago. He always saluted Diane on her birthday…she was an earth angel, I always told him.🙏🏾
I also had the pleasure of working with his mom, Mrs. Goodwin at RMH in the 80’s. We’d laugh about how I so loved her!!
Your assignment is complete here on earth…may your soul rest peacefully. I’ll end this with the phrase that you ended our conversations with-‐ONE LOVE!!
My condolences and prayers to the family and relatives and friends.
Ronnie Jr., thinking of you (and Dana) as you celebrate your father’s life. His suffering is over, and he’s at peace now with his heavenly father. May happy memories bring you comfort. If you want to talk about him, or share memories, know that we’re here.
Hard not to remember and appreciate the basketball classroom of study there in the backyard of Peabody’s grandmother in Portee Alley where the most competitive basketball in the State of SC. could be found. A place where future college stars and NBA players polished their skills and formed a brotherhood beyond school rivalries and racial barriers. How Peabody managed to pull off such a feat was absolutely a testament to his dedication to the game of basketball, life and friendships. He led by example each day carrying his schoolbooks under one arm and a basketball under the other. My condolences and sympathy to the Taylor family and Peabody May You Rest in Power.
Ronnie Jr. and Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your father. Find solace in the cherished memories everyone holds in their hearts. Sending prayers of strength and blessings.

Ronnie (Peabody) Taylor,
Words cannot express the lost I feel. When we met on the court in the Philippines (1977-1978), you taught me how to become a better player, teammate and mentor for others.
You were always there for me and will be sorely missed.
To the family, thank you for sharing Ronnie with me and my family over the years.
As he takes his leave and rest with the lord, he will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
Willie Jones
My Ole Skool Basketball Player Brother (Peabody), words fail to capture the void left by your absence, but your courage and spirit will forever be our guiding light. We’ll honor your memory by living our values, and you’ll never be forgotten. It was an honor to serve alongside you. Your laughter/dedication/bravery made us stronger. We shared so much, and though the silence where you stood is deafening, your memory echoes in every challenge we face. Love Always your OLE SKOOL BASKETBALL REUNION BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
Ronnie, better known to me as Peabody. He was truly a special person, one who left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We shared the court together in the Philippines back in the late 70s and I’ll never forget his incredible talent. For a man his size, he could move with unbelievable quickness, skill, and was an absolute magician with the ball. Rest in Paradise (R.I.P.) King.
So much I absorbed and treasured in our relationship growing up as we did. It was easy to see the love and compassion you felt for your beloved family. God has blessed you and will take you to a solemn place of eternity. Rest in peace “Pea.”
Missing you already Bro Ronnie! I know you are resting well there in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy for the Taylor family. I know, by faith, we shall see one another again in the new earth clothed in our new and everlasting heavenly body. For now, rest well my brother! One love ♥️ Willie & Danita Haney (GlennDale, MD)
