  1. Today, I come to you not just as family, but as someone whose heart is deeply connected to this beautiful boy name Ryan, we are here to honor him . Speaking about the loss of a child is one of the hardest things a person can do — and honestly, it shakes me to my core. Because even imagining losing one of my own is something that’s nearly impossible to bear. And yet, here we are, trying to wrap our hearts and minds around the unimaginable.

But today, as painful as it is, I want us to speak about love. About light. About strength.

Because Ryan— this incredible 19-year-old — was a light like no other. He may not have spoken with words, but he spoke in so many other ways. He spoke through his spirit. Through his eyes. Through the way his presence filled a room with a quiet power and peace. He didn’t need words to express joy, didn’t need anything more than himself to teach us how to live with grace.

He was resilient. Ryan faced challenges daily that many of us couldn’t imagine — and yet, he did so with the soul of a warrior. And even more than that, he lived his life surrounded by the most beautiful example of what it means to be family.

Kevin , Dion, chase — you were his heartbeat. You all gave him a life full of love, safety, laughter, music, and connection. You honored him. You celebrated every milestone, every moment, no matter how big or small. You gave him everything. And you never let the world define him by what he couldn’t do — you always showed the world who he was.

And to chase — your bond with ryan was something divine. You showed the world that love doesn’t need to be spoken to be understood. You were his cheerleader, his protector, his joy, loving him, helping him, growing alongside him. Your mom told me how at your games you would always run over and give Ryan a kiss , remember chase Ryan will always be with you and the way you held him with your heart is something we will never forget.

Together, as a family, you all created a life for him that was full of light and warmth. You gave him a beautiful 19 years, and in return, he gave us all a lesson in unconditional love.

I know the pain of this moment is heavy. It’s unbearable. There are no perfect words to ease it, and I won’t pretend there are. But I believe that Ryan soul is resting now, free, whole, and at peace. I know Ryan knew he was loved — deeply, fully, eternally by all his family.

Let us carry that love forward. Let us honor Ryan not only in our grief, but in how we live. Let us remember his strength when we feel weak, his light when things feel dark, and his spirit when we need a reason to keep going.

Rest peacefully, sweet sweet curly head boy. You will always be loved, always remembered, and always, always be with us. I love you little cousin rest until we meet again
