Dear Reed Family,
Our family would like to offer our condolences to you all concerning Elder Tyrone Reed, Sr. Elder Reed displayed the love of God in such a way that truly blessed our family. He sacrificially gave of his time and energy, and we are truly thankful for him. His consistent devotion to the body of Christ was truly a blessing. Our prayers are with his family, and we pray that God will protect, keep, and bless them, in Jesus’ name. Love in Christ, Elder Willie and Sister Gloria Reese
Esther, TyKeem, TyQuan and Tyrone Jr,
We praise God for Tyrone’s life. He was a man of God – a man of prayer, encouragement towards and for others and dedication. He had the gift of always having a word… a prayer right at the time you least expected yet was right on time. He was always thankful for his upbringing and the godly teachings of his grandmother that helped guide him to Christ. He will always be fondly remembered.
May you all continue to hold to God’s loving and protective hands. Serve HIM with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. The days may seem dim right now and the absence of his presence daunting, however, God is still with you. HIS Light is shining and HIS comfort is sweet. Rest in HIM, Family. God’s promise is sure for all that die in the Lord and remain in HIM. You… We will meet again.
“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Revelation 14:13
Much love always 🙏🏾
It is still hard to believe deacon Reed has passed. He was one of the most interesting Christians I’ve met on the 24-hour prayer line. I never met him personally but, I felt like he was a brother of mine.
In recent years, deacon Reed didn’t have a fixed hour on the prayer-line but, he would pop in and out when convenient for him.
In this way deacon Reed was a surprise gift because we never knew when he would pop in and pop out. Word spread quickly about the ‘Holy Ghost parties’ he would initiate. He probably was the single biggest reason, people also starting popping in and out on the 24-hour prayer line…
“Maybe I’ll catch deacon Reed one of these times”
He always took care to remind us he wasn’t perfect and yet he was still eligible to spend eternity with his Lord and Saviour. Which meant, we had a chance also.
And after crying or laughing with us, he would encourage us. With the Word, a prayer and/or a personal testimony. Over the years as a silent listener while working from home, I would listen (it felt like eavesdropping) to prayer request and testimonies given to deacon Reed. We trusted deacon Reed because of his judgement free counsel and prayers.
It was clear Deacon Reed loved the Lord and… it seemed his love and passion for the Lord gave him license to NOT have to pull punches with his counsel on the 24-hour prayer-line.
We are going to miss deacon Reed. May his loving/encouraging spirit live on.
If I had a few minutes to share about deacon Reed at the celebration of his life later on today, I would play a song by Ray Boltz named “Thank-You” or I would simply read the words of that song. It describes how the 24-hour prayer-line family feels about the legacy of deacon Reed.
To his family, we wish to say thank-you for sharing him. We will continue to pray for you.
Thank-you!

I just can’t. . . Bro Reed and I had our first conversation in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. God has His own way of doing thing, cause the world was separating/isolating. God was using Bro Reed in helping me through a horrible time in my life(my mother’s passing). Thou, you really don’t get over a love one’s passing. . .but my G O D. But my God shall supply all your need. . . Phil 4:19(Thank you, Lord). Bro Reed would practically everyday call and check on me with God’s words of encouragement. From there, our friendship would blossom. He would refer to me, lovingly, as his “play daughter/sis”. There have been plenty of time Brother Reed, Sister Reed and myself would be on the phone having a good time. He would, also, invite me on the prayer line when he spoke. For the last two time, I heard him spoke on the prayer line. . ., “to God be the Glory”. For Bro Reed’s family, everyday I’m praying for God’s peace be upon you all, during this moment(because your in His hands).
Love
From Florida
My prayers go out to the entire family, especially Darlene, Tykeem and TyQuan. The times we spent together when our children attended school and church together will forever remain with me. I know Our Heavenly Father will heal us all in His own way. May His peace and Comforter be with you all.
The Raines family sends their deepest condolences to Reed family and close friends. I met Tyrone and his wife years ago when we both were getting a house built down in the Arthur town area. Tyrone always had a big, beautiful smile and always shared his kindness. I’m sure he’s really going to be missed by many loved ones and close friends. God plants a seed and watches its flower grow, and when it’s time, God picks that flower and brings it home.
Our sincere sympathy and condolences and prayers to the family.
I would like to give my sincere condolences to Tyrone’s family. I’m truly shocked to learn of his passing. He was a genuine friend of mine for over thirty-eight years ever since I had the privilege of meeting him when we both worked at Lexington Medical Center. I will truly miss our spiritual discussions and prayers my dear friend. I promise to hold all of them near and dear to my heart forever. I had a very strange feeling the last couple of times that we talked, that you were not feeling your best, and I did what you’ve always encouraged me to do, I prayed for your well-being and fast healing. As I have now discovered, that was not to be. I will truly miss you, my friend. Job well done thy good and faithful servant. Your friend forever, Rosalind.
Thank you, my brother, for the times we shared. Your smile, joy, and sincere concern for others are already missed. God has used you in a mighty way to touch the lives of many. Thank you for being an example and a big spiritual brother to me. The memories I have will now be my treasure.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during your time of bereavement. We pray that God’s love and peace surround you during this time.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I met Deacon Reed on the 24‑hour prayerline, and I want his family to know what a blessing he was to me. His love for God and his desire for everyone to have a true relationship with the Heavenly Father was inspiring.
I will always remember how he would join me during the 9pm hour when I was on the line by myself. We had some powerful times praising God together. The Word says that “where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in the midst,” and we experienced that every time.
Deacon Reed remained in my prayers. I never asked about his condition — I simply prayed for God’s healing and strength. He is already deeply missed, but I trust that God had a greater plan for him.
Thank you for sharing this faithful servant with us. His love for the Father touched many lives, including mine.
Mr. Reed was a true angel on earth. Every time he came to DAK he would always give me a word of encouragement and that formed a lifetime bond. I cherish all the conversations and pure laughter we had. He was more than just a deacon and mentor to me but the best spiritual father anyone can ask for. My love and prayers goes out to Mrs. Reed and the family.
I will most certainly miss you my dear friend. Thank you for being a mentor and never giving up on me. I wish that I could have shared just one more conversation. Heard another confirmation through you. Thank you for teaching me obedience through example. I love you and will forever keep you in my heart.
Never met Elder Reid until we came together to pray on our 24 hr prayer line where we all come together to call on Abba Father.. Shocked at his passing but I’m sure he is resting from his labor and have heard the Lord say
Well Done thy good and faithful servant. Praying for his wife and children that God will
comfort you in Jesus name…..
Deacon Reed was a christian man and a prayer warrior. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult season.
