To Joyce & other members of the Solomon family:
I was so very caught off guard when Walker Jr.’s obituary appeared on the Leevy’s site.
It was just today that I mentioned the Solomon’s name, both Mrs. Mary & Dr. Walker Solomon, the parents as I spoke their names in conversation., Mrs. Solomon as a teacher at W A Perry & Dr. Solomon as our leader of SCEA.,Incidentally, I have a picture of them from an NEA Convention in the seventies.
Had not seen or heard from Walker, Jr since his departure
to work in Florence.SC.
I only knew of he and Joyce in passing and as students at CAJ,
and when they lived in the Waverly area on Millwood Ave. when I grew up near them.
As I express sincere condolences to the entire Solomon family, I’m certain that Walker Solomon’,Jr., skills & talents will have made the Florence,SC community a better place for the good deeds
he dispensed as he worked in that community for many years. He left a legacy of good deeds for the many years of
toiling there in Social Services .
He is now offered up and his works do follow him to his heavenly home.
.
Mr. Solomon was a real down-to-earth person. I had much respect for him. He was the reason I was at Florence County DSS. My condolences to his family. He will be missed. RIP Mr. Solomon

Psalms 116:15.
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants.”
This does not mean that God delights in the death of His people. Rather, it expresses that the lives and deaths of those who belong to Him are deeply valuable and significant in His eyes.

Brenda, My deepest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your husband. He fought a long and courageous battle, and I hope you find comfort in knowing you are in my thoughts.
I will always remember his kindness and willingness to help others. One memory that stands out is how supportive he was in helping you look for a lighted world globe for me. At the time, it may have seemed like a small gesture, but it reminds me that we never truly know which acts of kindness or moments shared with others will become meaningful or serve a greater purpose in our life’s journey.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May God’s peace, strength, and loving presence comfort you in the days ahead.
Deborah
Sincere condolences are extended to the family of Walker.I have fond memories of him from the neighborhood as children. His family lived on Milkwood Avenue and my family lived on Short Street. Joyce and I were classmates and friends at Waverly Elementary School. Their parents were kind and caring and welcomed me into their home. I would sometimes ride with them to pick up Mrs. Solomon from Howard Elementary School. I have not seen Walker in years. My prayers are with the family during this time of bereavement.
Thank you for your many, many years of service to your people, this state and nation. From Director of the South Carolina Legislative Black Causus to Director of the Florence County Dept. Of Social Services – YOU made life BETTER for countless others! Rest, now, in Peace and Power!
There are no words, but please know you are not alone.
