When a truly blessed star like you shines in various ways in people’s lives, it genuinely makes a difference. It doesn’t matter if they’re related to you or not. Your heart will forever be remembered and cherished by everyone you’ve touched. As others have said, “I will miss our conversations.”

  4. You will truly be missed. I’m going to miss your personality and seeing you at church, or being the first familiar face in the lobby at our family reunions. You always remembered me and showed so much love to me and my siblings every single time we saw you. You reminded me so much of my grandma. May you rest in peace. 🤍

  5. I am sending my love and condolences to the family. Mama Betty was one of a kind. I remember how much she loved my big brother, Ivan. I have very fond memories of her love for others and her delicious macaroni and cheese dish. What a precious Gem. She will be missed.

  8. To my family, Bennie, Lee, Lorraine, Veronica, Derrick, Jamella, Andre and Dee Dee. Also to her most prize possessions, her grandchildren, and great grands. You were most fortunate to have had a beautiful soul as a mother. You all made Aunt Betty very proud and she always bragged on all of you. Her smile beamed as she spoke of each of you and your accomplishments. I know that you are feeling a heartfelt loss right now. But we all knew one day God would want his angel to be with him. I pray that you find peace and as time pass, you will feel better. Just know you all were loved, and she was the proudest mother of you all. I love you and I am praying for you. Love your cousin Cindy Sumter Collins.

  9. My Dear Aunt Betty,

As I take a moment to reflect on the incredible person you were, my heart is filled with gratitude and love. You truly were one of the kindest souls I have ever known. Your warmth and compassion lit up every room you entered, creating an atmosphered of comfort and joy that enveloped everyone around you.

Your generosity knew no bounds; whether it was offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or simply sharing your infectious laughter, you had an extraordinary gift for making people feel valued and cherished. The way you cared for others was nothing short of inspiring. You’ve taught me the importance of empathy and kindness through your countless acts of love—each one leaving a lasting imprint on my heart.

Aunt Betty, your ability that found beauty in everyday moments reminds us all to appreciate life’s simple treasures. You saw the best in people and uplifted them when they needed it most; this rare quality made you truly special.

Thank you for being not just an aunt but also a confidant, mentor, and friend. Your kindness has shaped our family in ways words cannot fully express. I was so lucky to have had you in my life, and I hope you knew just how deeply you were loved and I appreciated you. Our last moments we shared in the salon will forever be priceless to me.

    With all my love, ❤️❤️❤️

  13. Mama Betty,

I am so glad you came to visit me one last time over Christmas. You stepped in a showed out when my mom past away and became more like a grandmother to my children. I hope that you know how much you meant to me. I have so many beautiful memories to cherish. I don’t know how I am going to be able to just not call you or hear you saying ” What you monitoring your calls? Why didn’t you answer when I called”? I’m hurt, but I know God’s purpose has been served and you did such a wonderful job here that he was ready for you to be with him in his Glory. Oh.. I love you and will miss you so much. Your Mell……

  16. After speaking with Mama Betty, it was clear that her mind was still sharp as a pencil. She was such a sweet kind person. It’s rare to meet many people her age who where even familiar with Cash App. My heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time.

  17. If there was an Angel walking here on Earth, it was my Aunt Betty. She was the sweetest, funniest, best dressed, lovable and one of the best women in my life. She was an awesome cook and I looked forward to her visits when she would cook the best meals ever. She was always there for anyone in our family. If you were sick, she was there to take care of you, if you were hungry, she fed you, feeling down, she was encouraging.
I will miss her weekly phone calls, always ending with “I love you”. You’re my girl. Rest in Peace forever.
