  1. I am so sad to learn of Carrie’s passing. She volunteered with Baptist Hospital for 23 years, giving 9,332 hours of her time until June 2017. I would like the family to know that a memorial donation will be made in her name to the Prisma Health Midlands Foundation and her name will be placed on our memorial board located across from the hospital gift shop. I am truly grateful to have known her. She was a blessing to everyone.

  5. Sending heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family of Mrs. Carrie Ashford. She indeed was a woman of much wisdom and knowledge, that left me knowing the truth faith she conquered throughout her Christian journey. I’ll forever cherish moments with Mrs. Ashford, if it was seeing her beautiful smile after receiving the burger, fries, and “LARGE” Coke I would take her, our sharing in the United Order of Tents, or just a nice pleasant talk on the phone. She was such a influence and inspiration. Rest on Sister Ashford.

  11. Dear Family of Mrs. Carrie Ashford,
We proudly share these love notes with each of you as a means of gratefulness and honor for having the opportunity to know Sister Carrie Ashford. When we arrived at Central Baptist Church in 1985, an angel and saved woman embraced us with loving arms and never-ending support. We reciprocated by responding to her genuine love for us by loving her in return. She always met us with a smile and took us in as her family. We soaked up her words of wisdom like a sponge and we benefited greatly. God blessed her with 100 years on this side and we shout, “Praise the Lord!” Thank you Lord for blessing us to be a part of Mrs. Carrie’s life for 40 years. Family, your jewel is in heaven and she will forever shine like pure gold. Our hearts are broken and we know that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit!” (Psalm 34:18) NIV. God understands our grief and promises to be with us, to comfort us with His word, and give us a peace that transcends all understanding!”(Philippians 4:7) NIV Rest in peace Mrs. Ashford! We are better people because of the sermons preached through your modeling of a child of God. Endless Love- Always and Forever!

  12. I Praise and Thank GOD for knowing Mrs. Ashford since 1982. She was such a sweet, beautiful, and humble mother in Christ. She was a true Christian missionary, giving and blessing those that she loved dearly. Her leadership on the usher’s ministry was an example of what Christ gifted her to do. She served with pride and joy, smiling and giving warm hugs as a door keeper in The House of The Lord.
Mrs. Ashford you will truly be missed, take your rest in The Arm of Jesus. ❤️

  15. Sending my heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family of Sis. Carrie Ashford. I grew up being trained and serving along side Mrs. Carrie and others who is now resting in God’s Care on the Senior Usher board and as a Junior Usher as a young girl for many of my years at Central Baptist Church. I will always cherish those times ushering at the church. I know she is standing in her post doing what she loves to do. “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the House of the Lord” Take your rest Mrs. Carrie!
