  1. Dear Furgess family,

You are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I would have attended the funeral, but I live in Kansas now. Grandma, as we called her, was a huge blessing to me and my students at Arden Elementary! She worked with me for a number of years. Grandma was so kind and always willing to help. The children loved her and I did too! I am looking forward to seeing her again in heaven.
May God comfort and strengthen you all.

  21. To the family of Gram-Ma Furgess: I met Gran-Ma when I was on assignment at Arden Elem. School. On the days I was there, she always made it her business to come by and chat with me. I learned that I went to BTWHS with her children. She would always bring me something. For years she’d give me a planner for Christmas. After I joined Bethlehem we continued our chats whenever we saw each other. We always reminisced about our times at AES. “Believe it, or not, but, She gave me a planner for 2026-2027, this past Christmas.” It was after the holidays, but she gave it to me March or April, still wrapped in Christmas paper. She said “I had this for You but, I kept missing you.” On the choir stand that Sunday morning, it blew my mind, that she was still giving me these yearly planners. “I’m going to MISS my sweet spirited friend, but I can surely say, “I’ll see her AGAIN.” I’ll never forget the fond, Blessed memories I had with Gran-Ma Furgess. Sleep On Gran-Ma, Take Your Rest, We ALL loved You, but God Loved You Best. 😒😒😒

  37. When Mom and I first started attending Bethlehem, Mrs. Furgess was one of the many members who warmly welcomed us. Before long, she became our Sunday seatmate.

She greeted us with the same genuine smile, kindness, and loving spirit every week.

Even as her health declined, she never stopped showing love, compassion, and concern for others. Her generosity and thoughtfulness made us feel as though she had known us all our lives.

We will truly miss our Sunday seatmate, but we are so grateful that God allowed our paths to cross.

We will forever cherish the love, kindness, and care she shared with us.

Sleep on and take your rest. We love you, but God loves you best.

Our heartfelt prayers are with the entire family during this time.
