  42. To our dear friend Bill, and the Carson Family,

We only met your mother, Bill, once, when you took her and your father to Paris some years ago, but Anne-Laure and her immediately connected.
Anne-Laure and I often think of your mother since that memorable dinner in Paris’s vibrant and fancy heart.
Your parents were wonderful, amazing, and so caring. Your mother was terrific!
This dinner with your parents is carved in our hearts. We know that moment certainly made us better.
Their testimony about their lives during the segregation was so powerful.
Your mother’s optimism, strength and belief in humanity were exemplary and continue to resonate in our minds and hearts.
