  4. To the Family of Lula Shaw Cleckley,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences in the loss of your beloved family member and one of God’s gifts in my world: Lula Shaw Cleckley. Lula was a phenomenal woman of God who well served in His Kingdom. I will immensely miss “our joy-filled talks” and “her wisdom of nuggets.” While our talks were not frequent, when we did talk, we would talk as if there was “no tomorrow on our agenda.” Our talks were always spiritually enlightening and often ended in prayer…giving God the glory! Lula’s beautiful and loving spirit will be with all throughout eternity; and for that, I am most grateful to God.

  12. Rev Cleckley, Brian, Robin, and family, my family and I extend our deepest sympathy during passing of Mrs. Cleckley. Mrs. Cleckley was a beautiful person and we know she will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her. We pray God gives you all peace and that He wraps His arms around you today and the days to come. We remember Mrs. Cleckley fondly as our First Lady at Prodigal AME Church, years ago when we were children. She always had a pleasant smile, gave encouraging words, and showed us so much love. She made a huge impact on our lives. Some years later, our paths crossed again and she had the same loving and caring spirit. May her beautiful soul Rest in Peace and Rest with God.

  15. I am so sorry for your loss, Robin and Cleckley family. Robin, I always enjoyed hearing about your mother through the many stories you’d share during our time together in the classroom at RTE. No doubt she was a special lady who greatly impacted you and your family as well as hundreds of students, church members, neighbors, etc. by sharing the love of Jesus and using the gifts and talents God gave her. 17. God, as the Cleckley family and friends grieve the death of Sister Lula together, please send us the comfort we need. Let the family and friends find peace as we seek you. Please help us adjust to life without Sister Lula and let go of her here on earth as we remember her legacy. When we think about Sister Lula in heaven, let that inspire us to use each day you give us well. Strengthen our faith and help us do all we can to spread your love in this world as she did. Allow us to sense your presence with us day by day in our grieving so that we can find hope, healing, and even joy despite our pain. May we emerge from grieving with stronger relationships – with you and with each other. Thank you Lord ! Amen

  22. She was certainly an angel among us. From our first meeting I knew she was special, always smiling and true to her calling. She was my president and talked me into becoming hers. I will never forget her soft spoken voice of Christian love, encouragement and wisdom. Sleep well my beloved sister.

  23. We would have the family of Sister Lula Shaw Cleckley know that we are praying for you in your loss, that God of all comfort will sustain you during the days ahead. Also, know that we share your heartache in the home-going of a dear friend and former connectional officer whom we continued a sisterly relationship with. However, “God saw her getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around her and whispered, ‘Come to Me.’
