  11. To Al and other members of the family of Mrs. Manatha M. Young;

    I, as so many others have shared, would also express that your Mother was such a lovely personality.
    Of course I knew her as the better half of Dr. Al Young, my Physics professor at Benedict College and later a friend .

    I encounterd Mrs. Young at Wal- Mart on the Forest Dr. side of town late in the evening about two years ago.

    I was concerned about how long she had to wait for service at the pharmacy , so I decided to wait and make sure that she was able to get back to the Fairfield Rd. side of town safely. I therefore insisted that she follow me as I drove slowly & carefully, taking the path with few turns and void of interstate travel.

    Once we arrived at Lincolnshire , there was a problem with the garage opener, so I convinced her to park outside of the garage, as I could see her frustration and that she was tired. I assured her that I would return the next day in day light & resolve the parking situation of which I did.

    Later I would call and check with her periodically to see that all was well.

    Of cousrse in her usual, pleasant and cordial manner , she continued to thank me over the months. I assured her it was my absolute pleasure because of who she was and whose she was and that she of course was “Benedict College”
    family!

    My thoughts continue to be with the family as she lived a life of longevity.

    May she now rest from her labor of more than fourscoures, and connect with the family circle with her beloved husband and son!

    To God be the Glory!

Our conversations were always filled with laughter and at times wise insights she share about life. My children and grandchildren will surely miss walking across the street and just talking with each other. Rest in Peace (loved you like a second Mother and will never forget you for as long as God allows me to continue walking on this journey) ❀️
