  1. Kim, I wanted to say this about your mother. I met Ms. Carr many years ago I believe at one of the outings with you. I don’t remember if it was the Alvin Ailey Dance performance or at the Dance Africa event in Brooklyn. Both events became an annual outing. I remember how “bubbly” her personality was. She was always smiling and laughing. I believe she referred to you as “Kimmie” which I thought was rather cute and adorable. She was easy to talk to and she always gave me some “pearls of wisdom”, even when I didn’t actually ask. I always appreciated that because I knew that she cared about me.

At some point, I visited your house in Queens and she made me feel not just comfortable, but like one of the family. I felt like I knew her for years. She had a way of making a person feel totally comfortable and loved, in a short period of time. I remember that she worried about you and always asked if I was making sure you went out because she always worried that you worked too much. I always assured her that I was doing my best. Your mom was warm, kind, generous and very loving. I know that you will miss her dearly. I am so happy to have her.
