  1. To The Family of Ruby Ella Nixon Schumpert. My heart was heavy after I heard of the passing of Mother Schumpert. At the same time my heart rejoiced for her longevity of life, and that now she is living in her Heavenly home. I met Mother Schumpert at St. John Baptist Church.
We were both part of the Counts-Brown Family Ministry Unit. Mother Shumpert would host us many times, at the “White House” we called it. She enjoyed hosting are Christmas gathering. The White House was always decked out with Red, and white, and she would have hidden gifts for everyone. Mother Schumpert will be missed, but what memories we have, and a life long Legacy to hold in our hearts.
Rest in Power Mother Schumpert! My Deepest Condolence to the Family

She was our neighbor when I was growing up and cared deeply for my parents, Rev. Dr. Jordan & Eunice Smith as well as for myself and my siblings. 20. It was a special blessing to have had Mrs. Rubie as a mentor, co-worker and a friend for more than sixty years. She looked after me as a new teacher in the mathematics department where she served as our chair. That friendship continued after she became the guidance counselor and upon retirement. I will miss her and our conversations. I want the family to know that they are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

  23. It is with great pleasure, I solute my aunt as a great promoter of skills and education to the family and those with whom she came in contact.
Compassion has two parts. First . . . identifying a need or misfortune. And the second part is doing something about it . . . THAT’S MY AUNT RUBIE . . . be it knowledge, time, money, clothes, encouragement, advice . . . she was devoted to lifting family and others. She always responded with grace, dignity, and compassionate care. (I know that I’m a bi-product of her concern and devotion to family)
We thank God, for given her a lead role in our family.
    To quote Mary McLeod Bethune:
    She leaves us love.
    She leaves us hope.
She leaves us the challenge of developing one another.
She leaves us a thirst for education.
She leaves us a respect for the use of power.
    She leaves us faith.
    She leaves us racial dignity.
She leaves us the desire to live harmoniously with your neighbors.
    and finally
She leaves us the responsibility to nurture our young people.
She was truly a beacon of inspiration and motivation.

    Thank you Aunt Rubie,
