  36. I called Stella last week and left her a voicemail, telling her I was in Columbia and really wanted to see her before I left.

She was a good friend of mine from W.A. Perry Jr High through C.A Johnson High. I hadn’t seen her since we left high school because I was in and out of Columbia over the years until I finally settled in Kansas.
They say, there are three degrees of separation, and it’s true. Stella moved across the street from a cousin of mine. They had something in common. Me.

I never would have gotten a chance to hear her voice again in this life, had it not been for a chance meeting. Stella gave her phone number to my cousin to give to me. I called her, and we talked for awhile.

Stella has left the planet, but her heart will live on through her loved ones.

My heartfelt condolences to family and friends, alike.
