  2. In Loving Memory,

On behalf of the Scott family may the God of all comfort by the power of his Holy Spirit be your peace in this most difficult time.

The Cofield’s (your parents) home was always a welcoming place to many. Three of my sister’s were amongst her many other piano students, studied under your mother.

Besides piano lessons she also taught choir rehearsal from your home.

I remember one Saturday afternoon Mrs. Cofield held choir rehearsal in her home.
Four of my older siblings at that time was on her young people’s choir.

I would later join when i was older. In all eight of my nine siblings sung on Union Baptist young people chour under Nrs. Cofield

Choir rehearsals at Union was not wasted time in any of the 3 choirs. Under Mrs. Cofield amongst the many other songs we learned practically every hymn in the hymnal under your mother

She also taught me from your home special songs before she presented them to the choir. One such song “Lord You Been So Good To Me” And somewhere not very far through all of it was always Mr. Layton, Dwayne, and little D’Jaris

I will remember rehearsals, the VBS, and other special programs. And if you needed a ride Mrs. C. Was there.

Before your mom decline in health we spoke frequently. Our time was spent speaking about the Scripture as she was reading the Bible 3 times a day.S

Your mom told me every morning when she woke she would quote “Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise him all creatures here below praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”

This was and is a doxology a prayer of praise. It was her song of praise to the God who she knew been good to her.

She was one of the reasons why I became a woman of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.🔺

I will love her with my whole heart forever and cherish the time we spent together. I pray Gods love brings her family peace and they know just what a significant impact her life had on countless others.
