  2. Regretfully, I just found out today Mrs. Pauling died. She was my Kindergarten teacher at Kinder World 1976/1977 School Year. All of these years later I remember how she wasn’t one who played, but she was loving at the same time.

One of the most profound things she did was make a BIG deal about Black History Month that year. We learned about very accomplished black men and women of days gone by. I remember her running around with a sense of urgency and excitement as we participated in the events of the year. I never forgot it

If I remember correctly, she also cooked the food for us to eat. We had some great meals, and she still taught us things I’ve never forgotten.

As I reflect on that brief time with her in my formative years, I feel with certainty that she words like dedicated, loving, caring are words that characteristically describe her.

My deepest condolences to her family. Rest well my very first teacher.

  6. Debra and the Pauling family.
Thank you so much for allowing us to share time with Mrs. Pauling. We met here at Brookland Baptist, west campus many years ago.
She was an Usher, a proud door Keeper in the house of the Lord. Mrs. Pauling was also a dedicated member of the Homeless Ministry at the church. We would venture out from the church every 3rd Saturday morning at 5:00 am to the streets of Columbia feeding the Homeless people.
I will never forget the time Mrs. Pauling was disturbing the clothing on the street and she took her black and white tweed jacket off and put it on one of the piles of clothing and a Homeless person thought it was so beautiful and she put it on. Mrs. Pauling did not refuse the lady her coat.
We praise God for Mrs. Pauling teaching each of us a true lesson, it is better to give your best than to receive.
    Praise God for Mrs. Pauling.
