  1. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it to Marline’s funeral. I worked with Marline in the library at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, SC. She was a wonderful person and a joy to be around. She was unfailingly committed to her work and uplifting while discharging her responsibilities.

The world will be a diminished place without her. I’m sure she’s in a better place.

  10. I want to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. My heart goes out to each of you for the loss of Marline. I pray that all of the many happy thoughts and wonderful memories of her will help you through this difficult time.

She was an amazing and lovable person who touched so many lives in the very best way. I am so grateful, honored and extremely blessed that I got the chance to know her. As my sister (Mrs. Coleman) mentioned in her condolences, Marline was not only a colleague and friend, she was also considered “family” to us. When I first met her on Allen University’s campus, I had no idea that this young lady from Charleston SC with the warm and welcoming smile would remain in our lives many, many years later. We truly thank God that she did. Had I not met Marline, I surely would have missed an opportunity to know such a genuine, kindhearted person who was always so willing to help others.

Marline, you will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved you. Though you will be physically absent from our lives, you will always be present in our thoughts, prayers and hearts.

May you rest in heavenly peace because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

  11. Carletta and Abeni is sending our deepest sympathy and prayers. Ms. Marline was a gem and sweetheart of a woman. She was one of a kind and cared about the children at Adams Northeast AME Church. These were here babies. She touched all of our lives and my child asked of her and I had to explain the situation. Truly, she will be missed. She lived a great life and one to be remembered. She loved the God, people and her church with all her heart and soul. I’m still in a state of shock and processing it all. God only takes his own and she is listening and singing in heaven. Girl you made it in. Adams Northeast AME church family misses you but your legacy will live on.

  24. I have been slow to comment because it still doesn’t seem real to me. I still half expect my phone to ring and Marline will be on the line, saying “Hey, Mrs. C.” She was always “Marlie” to me and I was always “Mrs. C.” Marlie worked with me in the library at Allen, but she was more than a staff member. She was a part of our family and an invaluable member of the team when we working to gain SACS accreditation. She was the hardest working and most dependable person I have ever known. She was always there when she was needed. She remained a close friend even when we moved away. I am trusting that God is still in charge and He has a reason for calling Marlie home so soon. I know that I will see my friend again when I too am called to rest. My prayers go out to Marlie’s family. She was such a good person and lived such a good life. I know that she is resting in God’s Love and eternal Care.

I affectionately called her. We laughed together and shared our heartfelt thoughts together. Oh how she loved the Lord! I experienced the loving impact that she had on all who shared her love. Children were so precious to her. Especially Kristen. Take your rest my friend. You are another flower in His eternal garden. See you again

  30. We grew up in the same neighborhood, played together and went to school together in Charleston, SC. along with some more of our childhood friends. We called her by her middle name, Cynthia. This is VERY sad news for us here in Charleston. Rest on Cynthia. I knew you loved God a long time ago because we would often play church and house when we were children in the projects of Back The Green. Our families would go to church on Sundays as well. I will miss you and I’ll always cherish the times we shared as children. We were Facebook friends and she is my Soror in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Marline Cynthia Robinson, well done. 31. There are no words strong enough to express what Marline has meant to my family. Always there. Always supportive. Always loving. Always joy-filled. Forever in our hearts. Each of us had special memories and bonds with my Sis and we will miss her being in the world. But, we are grateful for the memories and at Peace knowing that she suffers no more. May God hold those who love in the palm of his hand.
