Ms. Sharon LaVonna Barker was born February 21, 1967, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the oldest child of Dorothy Ann Lovette Barker and Wilbur “Jacky” Barker. She departed this life on Saturday, May 15, 2021, due to a long battle with breast cancer.
Sharon was educated in the public schools of Richland District One of South Carolina, and graduated from Lower Richland High School, Class of 1985. She earned a degree from Midlands Technical College in Medical Assistance.
Sharon was baptized at an early age, and joined Red Hill Baptist Church, in Gadsden, South Carolina. She sang on the youth choir and gospel choir. She enjoyed football, fishing, camping, doing puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren, and chatting with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Dorothy Ann Lovette Barker.
Ms. Sharon LaVonna Barker leaves to mourn her passing: her daughters, LaVonna (Vincent) Watson, of Columbia, SC and Shanice Gary, of Wooster, OH; her son, Marcus Gary, of Orient, OH; her father, Wilbur “Jacky” Barker; sisters, Karen Morris, of Lynn, IN and Miranda Evans, of West Columbia, SC; brothers, Daryle (Leticia) Barker, of Hampton, GA and Jacky Darnell (Kelly) Barker, of Wooster, OH; seven grandchildren, Trayvon, Aaliyah, Nayla, Malachi, Jeremiah, Vincent II, and Dashawn; best friend, Barbara Toatley; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving and caring relatives and friends, all of whom will dearly and truly miss her infectious smile and heart.
