  14. Truly, I have been blessed through the life of Rev. Gist; he was my mentor and encourager while studying the Old Testament and a good friend in general. We enjoyed playing Bible trivia; that is how Rev. Gist would mentor me. I am going to miss my friend greatly. I sure would not mind being a fly on the golden walls of heaven during the time spent he and others are discussing God’s Word.

My prayers go out to Mrs. Cynthia Gist and her family, who allowed me to visit occasionally.

    RIP my friend

  15. My uncle Israel has gone home to
be with his heavenly family. There
    were countless times when the
    brothers and sisters would come
together and speak of “olden days”. The conversations would range from, family, home, food, church, school, friends, work, and
let’s not forget sports. Regardless of what story I heard, whether it
was humorous, sad, or just real, a
    LESSON was always learned!

  16. To Cynthia, Brittany and the Gist family, we send our sympathy and condolences for your loss. Reverend Gist will truly be missed. He was a “walking Bible encyclopedia” at Zion, who had a unique method of delivering the Word that was understandable and enjoyable. God bless you, always.
